I might not be the first to mention it, but as I care for animals I want to pay attention to the PDSA Calendar for 2009. The money raised with this calendar will go to this charity. Nathaniel Parker is featured with his cat Petrushka. I hope that the fans will support this wonderful organization.
The impressive line up of celebrities pictured with their four-legged friends includes: Strictly Come Dancing winner Alesha Dixon partners with Collie Cross Roxy
Scarlet Page, daughter of Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, was the talent behind the lens this year and she now joins the illustrious line-up of former PDSA Pet Pawtraits photographers: the late Lord Lichfield, Penny Lancaster Stewart and Jason Fraser. Scarlet has photographed some of the biggest stars in the world, from Robbie Williams to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and in 2006, held an exhibition featuring portraits of celebrities with their children, which included Louise Redknapp, Sadie Frost and K T Tunstall. PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity and its work is funded entirely from public support. The sales from the 2009 Pet Pawtraits calendar will go directly to helping provide free veterinary care for the sick and injured pets of people unable to afford veterinary fees. Clare Evans, Head of Communications for PDSA comments: “Revealing the 2009 PDSA Pet Pawtraits images has been so exciting. Our photographer, Scarlet Page, has done an incredible job capturing the extraordinary relationship between the celebrities and their pets, and we are extremely grateful to Scarlet and all the celebrities involved for giving up their time to help raise the necessary funds for us to continue helping pets in need of vets.” The 2009 PDSA Pet Pawtraits Calendar will be available to buy for £4.99 from 22 August 2008. You can order the calendar online, at one of PDSA’s 179 charity shops around the UK, or call 0800 - 917 2509. People from outisde the UK can order the calendar aswell.
