BBC has received petition Dear fan of Inspector Lynley and Dalziel & Pascoe, In
the recent past you have sent us an e-mail to let us know that you disagreed
with the decision of the BBC to stop the production of the detective series
Dalziel & Pascoe ánd The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. On wednesday February 6
the KRO will broadcast the first part of the last season of the series Dalziel
& Pascoe The Cave Woman and the last episodes of Lynley were
already broadcasted in the beginning of January. The BBC’s decision to stop the
production of these series met with a lack of understanding last year. Therefore
we asked you to react to this by sending us an e-mail to say NO to this
decision. We received a lot of responses to this request. A total of almost
13.000 people signed this petition. The KRO tried to present this petition personally to someone in charge at the
BBC or to one of the principal actors in one of the detective series. Nathaniel
Parker (Inspector Lynley) was eager to come to The Netherlands to receive the
petition but in the end it was impossible to schedule an appointment within a
time period that was acceptable to the KRO. He did let know on his website www.nathanielparker.com that he was impressed by this
action initiated by the KRO and that he was flattered by the massive support
from the detective fans. The BBC has already received all the responses, and we have informed the principal actors about this. At this moment we have not yet received a formal reaction by the BBC. As soon as we do we will put it on the detectives site www.detectives.kro.nl. Thank you for your commitment and support to our cause. Kind regards, Peter
