Thank you for your e-mail regarding 'Inspector Lynley Mysteries'
We at the BBC are very proud of the success of 'The Inspector Lynley Mysteries', a show that has brought quality and intrigue to our screens over many years. It has attracted a range of tremendous talent to perform alongside our wonderful lead actors Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small.
However we believe that it is in our audience's interest for the BBC to refresh our programme mix from time to time, keeping a diverse range of titles and voices on screen. Unfortunately that sometimes means closing the door on shows that are still performing well so that we can open them to new and original talent, hopefully paving the way for the strong long running shows of the future. The BBC would like to thank Nathaniel, Sharon and the novelist Elizabeth George for all
that they have done for the show and for our audiences both national and international.
I would like to assure you that we have registered your comments on our audience log. This is the internal report of audience feedback which we compile daily for all programme makers and commissioning executives within the BBC, and also their senior management.
